Medians and averages people report, not EDWartens pay. Cost of living, tax and visas differ.How to read these figures
- Each bar is the median or average base pay people in the role report, not the top of the range and not what any EDWartens engineer earns. Entry pay is lower.
- Cost of living differs. Rent, tax and food take a much larger share abroad, so a bigger rupee figure is not the same as that much more in your pocket. Gulf income is generally untaxed; Europe, the UK, the US and Canada tax it.
- Most roles abroad want a few years of plant experience and a work visa. The usual route is to build that experience in India first, which is what the India ladder shows.
- Rupee figures use one fixed rate per currency (ExchangeRate-API, 7 Oct 2026): 1 AED = ₹26.27, 1 SAR = ₹25.72, 1 EUR = ₹108.46, 1 GBP = ₹127.88, 1 USD = ₹96.47, 1 CAD = ₹67.7.
